Best Small Cruise Line?
Of all the small, relatively unknown cruise lines, which one would you say is the best?

I am looking for personalized service and real value - any suggestions?

We had a GREAT cruise on American Safari in Alaska on a small boat that only carried about 80 people. We were up close and personal with whales, etc the whole trip.

Cruise West is another line like this.

You should definitely look into SeaDream Yacht Club. They hold 112 passengers and they have itineraries in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Northern Europe.

Personalized service is one of their specialties. You never have to tell them you'd like something twice. It was the best cruise I've ever been on, not to mention I loved that it was all-inclusive--no tipping, no paying for drinks.

Good luck!

I just read your article on the Voyages to Antiquity line. This sounds like the kind of cruise that many people, including myself, would love to do. I just went to their website and it does look like they are taking the river cruising concept to the high seas.

Good article: Voyages to Antiquity Preview

Take care,

That's right, Gilbert. Like Mike said, the Voyages to Antiquity cruise line is a smaller cruise line that offers a great destination oriented experience but does not mean the high prices of a luxury line like Regent or Seabourn.

They DO offer a really great value, with all shore excursions and wine with dinner included, plus gratuities. They have extensive onboard lectures.
