Default Embarkation Pictures

I would love to see the cruise lines put the picture taking out of the way. If someone wants the picture taken then great, let them have it done. Leave the walkway to the ship clear for those that do not want a picture taken. I find it annoying to have to wait just to say no thank you.

Just smile and walk around line and pass them. As you pass the photographers say, No thanks!... and keep on going. We do this getting OFF the ship as well. It's hot, the sun beating down on you and the gangway is clogged with people waiting to have their picture taken with a pirate and fake parrot. Sorry... excuse me... coming by. If enough people did that, maybe they'd take the hint and move the picture taking to the side or at least further from the bottom of the gangway.

Along these same lines, I think the pictures in the dining room when your table is full of dirty dishes and half eaten food are the ones that annoy me the most. This always happens on formal night. Saying no thank you doesn't always work even if done so politely. There are numerous areas and opportunities to have your picture taken without having to be bothered during dinner.

Cruznut, I agree with you completely that the boarding process would go much quicker and smoother if folks didn't stop to have the pictures made and have to stash all the carry ons so they can smile for the pic. Perhaps a line for boarding for those wishing to have the embarkation photo and a line for those not wanting it? Let's hope the lines are listening.

Linda

Great suggestion. We always get our embarkation & port debarkation pictures taken but refuse to have our picture taken during dinner also. If we want a group photo, we take it with our own camera. Give everyone a choice!

While talking about pictures - I also really don't care for the photographer arriving for the group shot - just as our meals are served - and expects everyone to jump up and run around the table.
I don't think so.

I dion't like the picture taking either, I have my own camera for that purpose.... Is the ship required to take an I.D. picture for security purposes..... I think that your picture pops up on their computors as you leave or enter the ship with your Sail & Sign card.... If that picture has to be taken, when & where do they do it....???

That picture is usually taken right before you enter the ship in embarkation and activate your sail and sign card. at least on carnival it is.

I also agree that two lines during embarkation would speed things up a bit.

Taking the pictures during dinner doesent bother me any. in fact i like it. but that dont mean im going to buy it.

I usually pass on having pictures taken, but the folks that come by at dinner are a little more pushy than the kiosks. Please accept the first NO and let it be.

It would be nice to have the pictures available on the TV, especially those taken most recently.

Hi,
Given that the cruise lines make some $$$ off all the picture taking , youcan't really expect them to push that acitivity aside......
But I couldn't agree more with all of you ; it gets pushy, at times '' in your face.''.
The '' sign 'n' sail'' pictures are obligatory....we have to put up with those.
EVERY other picture is optionnal.....and too many of them become a royal pain in
the posterior.
The cruise lines will keep the business going; all they would be expected to do is,
as everyone says, stay off our face , quit almost forcing people, and DON'T STAND
IN THE WAY OF YOUR GUESTS when they are eating or embarking or disembarking.

So there...!!!

Cheers

They can take my picture a thousand times for all I care. They probably have. I've bought exactly one in the past 22 years.

Exactly, just ignore them and walk on by, that is what we do.

Never tried pushing past people in line on the debarkation in the port though. At least not until I get to the ramp and see it is just the photogs.

Cheers,
Peter
