Default Iced Tea

I understand that the reason the ice tea tasted bad on the Ecstsay was because it was instant. It would be just as easy to make the tea with bags, and it would taste a lot better.

I found the same on the Fantasy. One time as I was getting more, don't know why, an elderly woman said to me--"Honey, add a bit of lemonade to the iced tea. It taste better." She proceeded to make one for me. She was right. It tasted great. No need for sugar or lemons. Wisdom comes with age. Can't wait. <VBG>

Cheryl,
That actually is a drink called an Arnold Palmer...My boss orders one all the time and I even found it in the ice tea section of the grocery store made by Nestea for him.

Arnold Palmer Recipe
Ingredients
5 oz Lemonade
5 oz Iced Tea
Mixing Instruction
Combine ingredients in a highball or tall glass with ice, stir and enjoy.

Bad iced tea must be universal! I don't think I've ever had a good tasting glass on any of our cruises!

I know the ice tea in the dining room on Celebrity ships is freshly brewed. It is delicious. My sister-in-law doesn't like it because it is NOT the pre-sweetened packaged stuff. Go figure.

We love it.

I made my own tea in the room. All you need is a pitcher, bags and water and sun. The room Steward even had some of it. I love my tea, as much as a drinker loves booze, but it would have been nice to have good tea with meals.

I guess I'm odd man out. I've enjoyed the tea on all of the cruises I've been on....oops, I take that back. It was horid on Costa with a fishy smell (could have been the ice). My suggestion is that tea is dispensable 24 hours a day. Frequently in the morning you can't get it unless you make it yourself. It has been replaced by juices in the dispenser.

When I travel I take Cold Brew bags and if it is bad tea ... I brew it myself with the cold water.

I don't usually drink iced tea anymore. The caffeine from it keeps me awake (coffee doesn't-go figure). I sometimes want something besides water with lemon or alcohol with dinner on the cruise, so I pack several of the individual Crystal Light flavorings, and take a few to dinner each night. I share them with my dinner partners if they want. They are also great if traveling with children.

Crystal Light is great. And, they have a new one that rehydrates you with electrolytes (sp??) We didn't like the green tea with blueberry flavor.. too sweet. but we loved the Berry Splash I think it's called. Good idea about bringing them to the table.
