Default Cruise Vacation with the theme Sports

Sports theme-based cruises are becoming popular among avid sports lovers as well as loyal fans of sports heroes. At present baseball theme based cruise vacation and golf cruises are available. Sports based cruise holidays offer either interactive sessions to improve the sport or a once in a life time opportunity to meet the sports heroes while enjoying cruise vacation. Sports theme-based cruise vacations feature lessons and talks from pros, autograph signing sessions, trade stories and even a trivia games with the players themselves. Theme cruises are the ultimate getaway for anyone who lives and breathes sports.

Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas and Legend of the Seas offer “Golf Ahoy!� Cruises. The travel industry estimates that there are six million golfers in the United States. Golfers are the hot comodity for the travel business including cruise companies. A series of golf cruises are scheduled year round that sail to Hawaii, Bermuda, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Panama Canal and Mexico. Guests can get their game on at five different golf courses during the course of a week long cruise vacation. Apart from that they can partake in the many onboard golf activities. On Voyager of the Seas cruise ship, a computerized golf video game simulates the actual process, allowing users to pick their club and swing. Each of the cruise ships features miniature golf courses perfect for preparing for the famous links visited while in port.

Holland America and Carnival cruise also offer golf cruise vacations year round. The tour company takes care of the details including booking tee times, and transportation to and from courses, as golfers sail from island to island during their cruise holidays. Courses offered during golf cruise vacation include Robert Trent Jones Sr's Carambola course on St. Croix and the Dorado del Mar course in Puerto Rico.

MSC Cruises' MSC Lirica and MSC Opera offer “Baseball Greats� cruises, designed for the true baseball fans. Cruise feature pitching, hitting, and catching clinics; and even a trivia game with the players themselves as competition while taking cruise holiday. Various itineraries are offered for cruise vacation to the Caribbean. Baseball cruises are scheduled between January 28 and March 18, 2006.

The cruise ship Carnival Valor offers “Rusty Wallace Cruise�. During the cruise, passengers participate in discussions with NASCAR legend Rusty Wallace, who is retiring from the racing circuit this year. Cruise features a number of invitation-only events, including autograph signings, question and answer sessions, and photo opportunities. Cruise vacation itinerary includes Miami, Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Marten ports of call. Scheduled for Winter 2006.

Cruise holiday innovations for 2006 include a surfing pool, flowing from one deck to the next, on Freedom of the Seas vessel. This is the latest ship to join the family-friendly Royal Caribbean fleet, which already provides rock-climbing walls, skating and roller-blading rinks, as well as the excellent Adventure Ocean children's club to make cruise vacation funfilled and exciting.

Fans of water sports will appreciate the purpose-built marinas that are lowered from the stern of Seadream's two elegant ships in secluded bays and coves, from which guests can take part in a variety of activities such as skiing, wave running, snorkeling, sunfish sailing and enjoy their cruise holidays at the fullest.
