We are thinking of starting or ending a couple weeks on land in either Italy or Spain with a cruise through the Greek Islands. We would appreciate recommendations for which lines do the best job of visiting the most islands and capturing the Greek Island experience. Also, recommended length of cruise too. thanks!
We are looking at the Celebrity Galaxy; lots of ports and we know Celebrity will give a quality cruise experience from past cruises. There are a lot of Costa ships in the region but rumor has it, there is more smoke, fewer English speaking guests (could be lonely at your dinner table if no one understands you) and the food has never been rated very good. I'll keep an eye on this post to see what others have learned.
I cannot say right now our Greek cruise is in 5 weeks with Regent. However, I would suggest stopping at your travel agent's office and gathering the brochures from any line that has ships in the Mediterannean. That's what I did early last year. I found that Regent had the itinerary that I was looking for. Of course no one offered my "perfect" list of islands, but Regent had the closest.
I'll definitely post back in October with a review of our cruise, maybe it'll help??
I cant imagine any bad choice! I could only go for a short time,so my suggestion would be to go for as many days as you can! It was a LONG trip from Houston to Venice when you can only be gone a total of 12 days! We did a 7 day Med-Greek Isles/Turkey cruise. It just killed me to only have a short time in Venice! But,I got a taste of it and know that I do want to go back! Probably going to have to go several times to fit it all in! But,we did enjoy RCI Spendour of The Seas! Dot
