Default Which cruise did YOU like best?

Hello,

Please fill in my poll. I think this would help some people who can't decide which cruise to go on.

I see NCL is missing. Such a wonderful cruise line so often overlooked.

SS Norway has to have been our favorite, may she rest in peace.

I've only cruised Carnival and Costa. Carnival wins hands down. I'm not sure but I think I'll go with Carnival for my next cruise.

It depends.

HAL is #1 especially for long exotic cruises. Princess a close second (but their coffee is swill).

If you are traveling in a group which contains all ages from toddlers, tweens, teens, and up to grandma and grandpa, I highly recommend RCCL, both for price and range of activities.

Carnival and NCL are at the bottom of my list.

We have heard wonderful things about Celebrity and Oceania, but have not traveled on those lines.

i think you need to break it down into two categories of higher priced and moderate priced....
Higher = Cunard, HAL, Celebrity, Crystal etc
Moderate = NCL (our favorite right now), RCCL, Carnival etc

Celebrity's Mercury was our favorite, then the Disney Magic. The high morale and very gracious, friendly professionalsim of the entire crew was the biggest factor, prompting a lengthly letter of praise and gratitude to Hotel Manager George Traganis. (Hope I correctly remember the spelling of his name here.)

Have sailed X's Summit and Carnival Imagination as well, and will be on HAL's Maasdam next year.

Default Carnival

We just got back from a Carnival cruise, our first on Carnival, aboard the Valor and it was great! Last year we cruised aboard the Caribbean Princess and Carnival beats Princess hands down in my estimation. The food and service were MMMMuch better on Carnival and all the entertainment was great. I did like Princesses learn at sea program though and their version of Movies under the stars had better movies then Carnival did. All in all though for my money it will be Carnival over Princess!

Default The SS NORWAY - Three Times Before She Left!

Norwegian Cruise Line has the best food and service. I especially loved the daily made from scratch breads baked and served in the dining rooms and the SS Norway was the smoothest ride experienced from the 10 cruises taken so far (NCL, RCI, Carnival (boo hiss) and Dolphin (long gone).

Would sail the Norway again if she were available.

This is a subjective topic. I can't imagine a senior couple liking the same kind of cruise as single and party oriented folks.
Then again, what does a person who gives their opinion have to compare with?
Are the person interested in fine food and wine or will one be more interested in destinations.
Personally I have only cruised on two lines. Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Celebrity had better food and a little more upscale, they had dancing lessons which I enjoyed, but then R.C.C, had other amenities.
For me I look at the destinations then in the Cruise lines that visit that area. Then look at the the ships are they old, new etc. And let's not forget the price.

I loved the Valor...great food, entertainment, the beds were great. The cruise line I like the least is RC, the ships are nice the staff is lacking.

I voted other as we have really enjoyed all of our Princess cruises. Tried other lines (at the urging of others), but always come back to Princess. We like the various sizes of ships, the itineraries that are offered and the value.

Default I think that there are different strokes.

Different strokes for different folks

Probably every line is great for some demographic but not for everyone...

also... not all ships/service on the same line are created equally.

HAL always. it is the marriott of cruise lines, not always superb, but always way above anything average. i have 155 days on HAL; when i've tried other brands, i have been disappointed -- particularly on NCL. when i find a good deal, i stick with it.
