We have a 12 day Mediterranean cruise coming up Oct 16th, followed by a 14 day TA. We want to be able to explore all the sites, but my husband tires out very easily and needs to sit down and rest for a few minutes. Does anyone have information on a lightweight folding stool that would not be too cumbersome to carry along with us? We will appreciate any help anyone can give us.
See you on the Carnival Freedom.
Another option might be this type of walker with a seat. Maybe he could ambulate long if he's holding on pushing something then when he tires, he can sit.
You might also consider a lightweight transport wheelchair(make sure you get one with the 12 inch rear wheels, much easier to maneuver), we have one for my DH and have traveled with it on airplanes with no trouble. We plan on taking it on our cruise. The main disadvantage is that the chair has to be pushed by you, the person in the chair can't do it. We paid about $240(shipping included), ordered online at www.spinlife.com.

I thought I had already responded to this, but guess my message (or me) got lost in cyber space.
I have a cane that folds down into a tripod based seat. I can't travel without it. Cost under $30. I got mine at Magellan's and have had so many people ask about it that I really should be getting a commission by now. You do have to straddle it to sit or it isn't stable, but it significantly expands my options, as I have to sit down frequently.

I just looked at the portable stool the night nurse uses and found out she got it at the local 99 cent store. What a great find. I probably would have bought more than one if I had seen them.
