Default Silly Newbie Question

I was reading a review and this is what it said,

"Half Moon Cay is a tender port. The ship’s tenders will deliver you to the pier."

What does "tender port " mean?

Sorry if this seems silly.

As we say - there are no silly questions. A tender port means that your cruise ship will anchor out and will transport you to the pier by smaller boats. Depending on the cruise line the boats will either be owned by the cruise line or contracted out to a local firm. It is a quick fast moving (usually) experience.

subtropic is correct...there are no silly questions. We were all newbies once and that is one of the things this site is all about. Welcome!

Just FYI, I am not a newbie, having been on 35 cruises....and I still have a never ending supply of silly questions!
DON'T be afraid to ask.

if more newbies asked questions on the Titanic things might have gone different.....ok bad joke.
Most tenders I have seen are actualy the life boats from your ship, which is kinda cool to see them being used.
