Default Tips on Making Video on Cruise

I am sailing on the Carnival Miracle on 9/24/07 and planning on video taping my cruise with the new toy my girlfriend and her family bought me for my birthday . I was also think of bringing my laptop to upload and edit my video while it is still fresh in my mind. My question is this does anyone have any experience with doing this and have any tips or advise?

The only trouble we have ever had is that our dew indicator would show up because we would keep the camera in a cold cabin all night and then when we would take it off the ship where the weather was warm and damp the dew indicator came on and it wouldn't allow us to film. The solution was to keep it in a zip lock bag while in the cabin and didn't take it out until we were off the ship. Never happened again. We also sit the camera in the window where the sun could warm it up.

Wouldnt you have to take it out to tape on board activities (dinner, shows, etc)? did that cause a problem?

The shows do not allow photo's or video. They are considered copyrighted and the lights can be distracting to the performers. But, every year, I wish we had taken more video of dining rooms, and other activites...even just the interior, so I can watch and daydream!

Keep the battery charged and have other batteries handy.

I am a travel agent and usually get to board the ship early and do a travel agent inspection. I video then in the dining rooms and all over the ship, while onboard we hardly ever film anything, seems most of the time it is outside. Barbieq
