Default New Years Cruise

Anyone been on a New Years Cruise before? There is not a lot of info on the forum about it so I thought I might get a thread started here of people's experiences.

We sail on Dec 29 on the new Carnival Freedom. I will post a review when I get back too. Carla

I've been searching the web for info on holiday cruises and can't find anything so good luck. I even had some strange responses from NCL when I inquired directly concerning holiday activities etc. I was told "we do not comment on holiday activities b/c some of our guests may be offended". I was offended I'm paying double to cruise and don't have any idea what will be going on. We did not book the cruise.

In the end we booked with Carnival b/c they were able to give the most detailed information. We're traveling on the Carnival Miracle 12/24-1/2. Hope you find additional info. I was told that a New Years Party would be held on all Carnival Voyages including a Champagne toast and party favors. I'm still looking for info on dress code for such a party. I'm hoping for something chic and unique or possibly a formal affair.

Hope to hear from you.

Default Holiday Cruise on HAL Ryndam

My husband and I are sailing on Dec. 30 from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera. I love the idea of being at sea on New Years Eve - champagne in hand and no drunk drivers. We have not done a holiday cruise before, but this does sound like fun.

After asking some additional questions I was told that New Years Eve on the Miracle would be a formal evening, however, suits and ties were still appropriate - no tux was required.

So far no info on the party except Champagne and Party Favors will be available as well as a count down. I'm still looking for more info.

I have never been on one either, but have been told there are a lot of families/children on the holiday/new years cruises. I am also thinking about going on the 12/30 out of San Diego.

We too, are doing our first New Year's Eve cruise on the Carnival Liberty leaving 12/30. We also learned about the festivities and of the evening formal wear from other posts. What else is there to know, other than there will be music, food, champagne and party favors on a night where everyone will be having fun and ringing in the new year.

Let me be the first to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2008!!!

Manuel
