NCL 7 day Pride of Hawaii -- Passport required?

Traveling with my husband and I, and my parents. We all have passports, but my 1 year old does not.

This itinerary does not go to Fanning Island, it goes only to Hawaiian ports. Anyone know if we'll be able to board w/o her having a passport? I called the Gov. office and was told that I can still get one if I expedite it, but I'd rather not at this point if it's not necessary.

Also, does anyone have a tip on where to get an ID made for her (just picture/name, description)? I would like to get it done anyway, even w/o traveling, but it seems like it is especially important for travel.

If you are sailing POH on the 7 day through the Hawaiian Islands you never leave the U.S., so no passport necessary (if you're American).

You might still consider getting your child a passport.

When I was 2 my family traveled over to Ireland (where my grandmother is from). My 25 year old passport with the one Irish stamp in it is one my most treasured belongings. It might be for your child too.
