Default 1st time with our kids!! Which cruise line?

Hi, we have spring break in April and our children have never cruised. We thought this would be a fun adventure for them. They are all boys, ages 12, 13, and 15. We would like beach excursions and possibly fly into a Florida airport? Suggestions??
Thanks so much!

I'd recommend looking into Royal Caribbean Voyager Class ships, or Carnival, to the Western Caribbean.

Particularly during school breaks there'll be plenty of kids their age onboard for them to meet.

You have to check out Carnival's website and RCI's website to see what each offers. I would ask your kids if they want to try rock climbing or surfing. If there eyes bug out of their head, then you might want to check into the Voyager or Freedom(OTS) class ships. Freedom/Loberty of the seas have the flowrider surf thingy, but the downside is the ship holds over 4000 double and well over 5000 full....

If you have boys that like sports or just keeping busy RCI ships have rock climbing walls and the two newest/biggest have the flowrider surf pool. The ships also have minigolf, rollerblade tracks.

I like Carnival because the price is lower. If your boys can be happy with a arcade, pool, basketball/volleyball then Carnival is for you. My boss at work has a daughter who is into figure skating, so when he was told that RCI had a skating rink his daughter basically decided that was the one they would go on. Too bad they backed out, seems they didn't like the fact that it takes so long to get to Miami from where we live that they decided to go to Playa del Carmen instead (which was just as long to get to as Miami...)

Let your kids help you pick!

We are in the same situation as you - kids aged 11 and 13, planning our first ever cruise during the April half term holiday. We have done loads of homework over the past few months (takes us ages to book anything), and the line that keeps getting recommended to us is Royal Caribbean.

Apparently the kids activities are superb, a work colleague showed me a daily programme from her cruise and the kids had loads of things to choose from, they were even making mini volcanoes and exploding them I am told that their teens programme is also very good.

Our kids have gone through all the brochures with us and are awestruck with the fact that if we go with Royal Caribbean they could ice skate, surf and climb walls whilst at sea! Let your kids have a look at the brochures - they might choose for you
