Default Grand Cayman Tendering

With the tenderng issues Grand Cayman has always had, and all the money from the ships that cruise there, one would wonder, why they have not built a pier there... we know this port can be very busy, as it was on our 06 NY Eve cruise, when 7 ships pulled in....& some would still tender in of course...But it would be so much safer, with less passengers tendering.

Trip I think that one of the main reasons they do not have docks in Grand Cayman, as well as Belize is that it is surrounded by lots of shallows and reefs. Grand Cayman has lots of ship wrecks to dive, for that very reason. I believe if it were practical they surely would put a pier in.

I had some info years ago on the dive sites for Grand Cayman and the whole island is surrounded by reefs and wrecks. If they were the build a dock they would have to find an area that is wide enough that doesn't have a reef or wreck, and there aren't many places.....

In addition, by using tenders, the economic intrastructure continues to grow as companies are used to ferry the passengers in and out.
