Default Weather???

This might seem like a silly question to some of you CM's, but...

We usually cruise in May. We have found the weather to be very nice. Have only had trouble with rain 1 day in all of our cruises. However, from reading some different postings, it seems that we could get a better rate if we cruise in September. So my question to all of you - What is the weather like in the Carribbean and Mexico (thinking of trying that one next) in September? Is there alot of rain, temps? Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated.

September is peak hurricane season; that is why the prices are lower. The historical peak of the Atlantic (including Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico) hurricane season is 10 September.

You pay your money and take your chances. If you don't care if you make it to a specific port, the tradeoff may be worth it.

Thanks Marc.
My DH and I were discussing the hurricane time line and thought it might be a new experience to ride out a storm at sea. As for the specific ports, we have hit most of them so to miss one and get a day at sea would be ok.

Do you know the storm season cycle for the Pacific?
Thanks!

The hottest day I ever spent in the Carribean, was in September on Labor Day, in St Maarten, and duing my frequent fall crusies, I have not had any major rainy issues, but once in Grand Cayman.

I seem to always cruise in September. Great values. Usually try for two if possible. It is hot in the Caribbean, but it's just as hot in Texas in September.

Good luck with your September bookings.

Thank you everyone for replying. I do believe we will try for September (hopefully this year - but definitely next!) I hope we can save enough $$ to go every year if we move to September 8)

As fellow addicts - isn't funny how you only think your on vacation if your on a ship???
