Please help! I am planning a cruise for my birthday in December and can't decide which cruise to take. RCI Majesty of the Seas or Carnival Imagination. They are both leaving on the same day out of Miami and going to the Bahamas. Carnival has an overnight in Nassau while the RCI stops in Coco Kay and Nassau. Both ships were recently refurbished.
We have been on the Carnival Fascination (sister ship to Imagination) and also the Majesty of the Seas. Hands down, I would pick Majesty of the Seas of these 2 ships. Also the fact that you stop at Coco Cay is worth it in itself. That island is a little piece of paradise. LOVED IT ! Good luck with your decision - but that is the way I would lean. Happy cruising!

I would also agree, stopping at Coco Cay is the highlight of the cruise, great beach day. You'll enjoy a good BBQ lunch on the island and its absolutely beautiful, good snorkeling, etc.
I have never sailed Carnival but have sailed on Majesty. It's a great ship and you will love her. Nassau is nice, great water and beaches, but you can't be having a private beach like Coco Cay

I don't book a cruise for the destinations any longer, too many ports have been cancelled on us. RCL will only stop at Coco Cay if the seas are not choppy because everyone is tendered to shore. On one of our cruises on Majesty of the Seas, tendering was held up because of rough seas, they finally gave permission for the tender boats to transport the passengers but on our return to the ship, the water was extremely rough and it was a scary ride.
That being said, we believe the food on the Imagination is definitely better but the Majesty had a great deck party (cancelled if it rains), stateroom on Imagination was larger so when we book on the Majesty, we reserve a balcony room. Either ship will give you a fun cruise experience. The Imagination has recently renovated the Lido deck if that is important to you.
Whichever one you choose, be prepared for last minute itinerary changes and you'll have a good time.
Imagination: I have sailed Majesty once and Imagination 3 times; I liked the Imagination better - the Majesty -even though similar sized - felt small & crowded
