Default Passports - One week

My husband and son got their passports in one week! They went to the post office on Friday May 2nd and got the passports Friday May 9th. Regular delivery - we did not pay for rush delivery. We were shocked. Last year my renewal took 5 weeks!

I have been witnessing people getting their passports in hours. Incredible!

That is correct. However, you would need it for air travel so if something were to accidentally happen and not have one..........not a risk I want to take.

I got mine in 6 days---- Friday @ 4pm applied then received in my mailbox on a Thursday 11am.

My niece's passport came in during last week... she just didn't tell me. So it took about 10 days.

Excellent! DH & I applied for ours yesterday. They told us it usually takes 4-6 weeks. We were expecting it to take 6-8.

ANd maybe we were dumb, but we didn't know they would keep the origanl Birth Certificate. We did know it would costs $100 each.

You will get your birth certificates back when your passports are finished.

I talked to the passport people. They added 350 people whenthere was a crunch a few years ago, and they have kept them on, so the processing time is way down and should continue to be that way.

Hi: Also received my renewal in record time - 10 days, I think. I also applied for a "passport card" (we live very close to Canada) but those
won't be processed until July. Only hope our visas for Brazil go as quickly.
