The closest port to us is Long Beach (Los Angeles) it's about 40 miles away. The port that we depart from the most is 1. San Juan and 2. Miami.

I'm with Laura - we're about five hours from Mobile, but I really haven't had any desire to travel on the Holiday. We might go on the Fantasy when it moves there, too.

So far, both of my cruises have been out of Miami, about a 14 hour drive for us! We're looking at the Inspiration out of Tampa for our next cruise. It's just 8 hours or so away...

I've decided to revive the thread (maybe tacky since I started it) because I can now answer my own question. For driving distance based on Google Maps, here we go:

Baltimore 593
New York 711
Norfolk 717 (not even sure who cruises out of Norfolk)
Charleston 732
Mobile 744
New Orleans 831
Jacksonville 903
Boston 949
Tampa 1001
Canaveral 1033
Galveston 1158
Ft Lauderdale 1188
Miami 1201

Ah the Crosroads of America, in the middle of everything, close to nothing.

Not that I'm being obsessive or anything

Hey you skipped all the California ports. How are you going to get to Alaska or Hawaii without flying? We have San Perdo, Long Beach, San Diego, and San Francisco. You can take a 14 day from San Diego or LA to Hawaii.

Sorry Kat - didn't mean to dis CA, but obviously none of them were my closest port, nor do I have any delusions of driving to them or BC.

We are about 70 miles from the Port of Philadelphia; about 90 from Port Liberty in Bayonne and about 130 from NYC and about the the same from Baltimore.

We have only sailed out of San Juan, Port Canaveral, Port Everglades and the Port of Miami.

Oh come on you know you want to drive here. It's only 2095 miles from Indianapolis to the San Pedro Terminal in Los Angeles. Hey it's closer to San Francisco pier 2253 miles. We can set you up a nice Alaskan cruise from there.

Made that drive once, 1980. I worked at Port Hueneme for 5 months. Came west through SF to see my dear sister and went back east through the southern route.

We are about as likely to drive to LA as San Juan
