Default Honeymoon help!

Hello, I have a question regarding cruises. I am looking at cruises for a honeymoon, with a departure of May 31 or June 1st 2009, with a price of $3000 for a balcony room. I would like to stay under 3 because i know there are lots of other costs involved as well. I have looked at several Caribbean cruises, mostly carnival and one RCI. But I also have been looking at a Bahamas with Disney. We have never cruised before so I would like as much advise as possible. Should I go through an agent? We are looking more at Disney since we don't drink, smoke, or gamble and would like more of a family atmosphere, but what about all the kids??? Also, I am working on a budget, how much should one expect to spend on board as well as in shore excursions? Any advise here would be greatly appreciated! Any advise anywhere would be appreciated as well. Thanks!

Since you are a Texan also, I recommend going to Galveston and doing the Conquest or the Ecstasy. Carnival doesn't conduct their own weddings but you can get married, onboard, before the ship leaves. A civil servant of Galveston County will do the deed. Carnival will help to get it done or a travvel agent will also. You must let Carnival know at least 60 days in advance. The cabin should be reasonable also and, with the end of school at that time, you might be crowded on any ship. Vacation starts so kids will be on all of the ships that you might choose from any line.

We did the marriage thing earlier this year, but we got married on the island and did the honeymoon on the Conquest.

Default Considering Conquest

Thanks for the advise, although we already have a church booked we did think about a cruise wedding. We also are thinking about the, conquest, along with the freedom, valor, legend, RCI Freedom of the sea, and the Disney cruise. Do they give discounts for honeymoons?

In your first post you asked about whether you should get a travel agent to help. My suggestion is yes get a good travel agent. They can help you with all your questions and find just exactly what you are wanting. An agent wil know if there are any specials available and maybe able to get you some honeymoon perks! Good luck and hope you enjoy your upcoming cruise no matter where it is going.

By all means, get yourself a good travel agent. Go to www.cruising.org and do a search for a cruise specialist travel agent in your area, or ask your friends and family for any recommendations.

Cruise lines won't discount for honeymooners, but a good travel agent can probably get you some perks onboard.

As a honeymoon cruise I would say Disney would not be my first choice because so much (not all) activities are geared toward young children. However having said that I am sure any cruise line would help in making your trip special.

You seemed a bit concerned about drinking. I know RCCL doesn't allow pre-purchase of hard alcohol, however, Carnival does. What kinds of things do you like to do? The Freedom of the Seas is a large cruise ship with a lot of features for more active people. There is a rock climbing wall, flowrider, and ice rink.

My suggestion is to go to youtube and put a ship name in a search you can see some videos like the one below about the Freedom of the Seas.

Thanks guys, I have located a local certified cruise agent and will be talking to her shortly. We were thinking disney cause we thought the shows and entertainment would be really good since we are both big "animated" fans and enjoy cartoons. We just werent sure what all there was to do on other ships, we are both really active and do not really enhoy just sitting around in the sun, we would prefer having activites to do. Where can we find out all the a ship has to offer. I found sites that have a list of them, but they are pretty much all the same for every ship it seemed like. I never could find anywhere that said the freedom had an ice ring and climbing wall. Any good places to find all that out? Thanks for all the advise!

On the Royal Caribbean website, you can take a virtual tour of all the ships and see everything they have to offer.

Hi Tim,
Here is a link to Royal Caribbean's Freedom Class ships.
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findac...ssCode=FR&br=R
All the ships in this class have rock climbing walls, ice rink, flowrider, and boxing ring. These ships have alot of activities which seems to be right up your alley.
