Default Less than a week to go

Less than a week to go before I fly out of London to Brazil then transfer to Santos, to board costa Favolosa for 20 nights back to ltaly then fly back to Heathrow. So excited, and a tad nervous it's my first solo cruise.

Teddy, congrats on what sounds like a fabulous cruise. Check the daily newsletters, to find out if they have any single get togethers...Opt for dining in the main dining room, to meet new people, and I bet you will find new cruise friends to enjoy your cruise!

Hi Trip

I've opt for first dining on table for eight. Have exchanged email and phone calls with five other people around the world, that are booked on this cruise. It's amazing. I was told the costa cruises have an international feeling to them, I see why now. Has i was once told, "a good sense of humour and an easy going attitude and you,ll have a wonderful time "well that's me.

Sounds like a fun 2 weeks. I loved the JOS so much though I think I would have opted for 2 weeks on her if I had been you! Different ports I hope?

We have a Carnival cruise booked in July 2013, second for me and my husband, but first with our boys, ages 8 and 11. Any onboard tips or excursion (Progreso and Cozumel) suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

We just booked the Connie again for Thanksgiving week 2014. It is a 5 day out of Ft. Lauderdale. Super price and we will get our last 2 points to make "Elite" as we booked concierge. On that ship it means our stateroom is 191 square feet which is what we care about -not fruit and flowers.

I have a busy month coming up: first I fly to Rome to catch the Celebrity Constellation for its "Three Continents" transatlantic, Nov. 24 to Dec. 9. Then I go back to Ft. Lauderdale a few days later, to catch HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam on the 15th for a one-week Caribbean cruise. The TA is solo; the other is with my DH and our daughter, her husband, and son.

I meant you-6 days is too short to fly home in my opinion.

Momofmeg, I would have loved to do another cruise in between, but for a couple of things: first, I have two grandchildren having birthdays during those 6 days at home; and second, after me being gone for over 2 weeks, my DH probably wouldn't have any clean clothes left to take on the Carib cruise! He grew up as an only child in a southern household where "men's work" and "women's work" were very clearly defined, and he is emotionally unable to do the second. I unfortunately did not correct that situation when we were first married, and it does not seem like a battle worth fighting at this point.

I hate flying. I do all the washing too, but my hubby has done laundry a few times. I was bedridden when I was PG with my daughter. He did it then. Since she grew up, if I am gone she will do it for him. However, I only worked part time after my daughter started school so I have always done the laundry since he was the main bread winner and away from home more. I also helped him with yard work since I had more free time.

Now because of health issues I no longer work and I also no longer help with the yard work, I do still keep up with the laundry though. He is good to help me with other house work as he knows I need help now more than he needs help.

I have no grand babies. My daughter is single and seems happy that way. I love the little ones so I can see the grand babies as better excuse than they hubby-lol! BTW I am a southern gal and most do not think that way down here now. That was my mom's generation. Most southern women my generation work and have careers and so share house work and yard work with hubbies, what ever they do not hire out, that is.

You will love it. I've been on her sister ship and it is a beautiful ship. I loved the adults only solarium and the elevators with a view. She has glass elevators where you can view the ocean as you ride up and down.
