The family is cruising to Alaska in July on Serenade ots.
We have been planning this trip since August and can't wait. I hear the Serenade is a beautiful ship.
Hello all! My husband and i will be going on our 2nd cruise on Mar. 30, 2009. We are going on Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas to Western Caribbean. We will be going on only 1 shore excursion, the jeep tour of Cozumel. I think it will be fun, don't you?
I will miss my little 2 1/2 lb chihuahua soooo much, and wish that I could take her.
My husband and I are sailing on Enchantment in June. It is our 25th wedding anniversary. We were going to Vegas, but then decided to take a cruise instead. We usually cruise Carnival. We tried Royal Caribbean a few years ago, but my husband didn't like it.
This time, he told me the time and length of cruise, so I booked Royal Caribbean again to see if we are definitely Carnival people or not. Plus, the Enchantment was the correct length of cruise at the correct time of month that my husband wanted.
We have always stayed in inside cabins, but this time we decided to book a balcony since it was a once in a lifetime event. The Junior Suite was so close in price to a balcony, so I booked that.
We got an aft cabin (7666), and I am a little worried since it is on deck 7, above a lounge. Everything I've read indicates that we are on the opposite side of the ship as the stage in the lounge is, so there was no noise in the cabin. I hope what I read is correct. I am looking forward to sitting on the balcony a lot.
I am debating on ordering a bottle of champagne for the room, but am not sure I will. It is mainly for the "thought" since I know my husband will not drink any (he's a beer drinker), and I am not all that fond of it. But, it just sounds so romantic!! I doubt I will order it...maybe bring a bucket of beers to the cabin will be a better idea (and cheaper).

Congraulations on your up-coming anniversary. A balcony is great. Most people really like the aft. I have to admit we don't but that's because we like the rocking motion from side to side we get on the side. Those balconies on the aft are so much bigger.

Thanks. We're high school sweethearts who took our time getting married. (We didn't get married until age 29/30).
It will be interesting to see if we like the aft. I hope that the balcony part doesn't spoil us because we can cruise more if we book an inside cabin. We're both teachers, so we can only cruise during the more expensive times.
It's been over a year since our last cruise, so I am really looking forward to this cruise. Eighty more days!
Myself and DW are doing the Navigator of the Seas from
Rome to Fll on Oct 23/2010 with a few days in Rome as
a pre-cruise.
:o :o
That is a very attractive schedule and I jumped on that immediately. But, due to my new profession which requires me to sail on different lines I had to cancel out quickly.
The group space is selling rather quickly though and I am jealous every single time.

my sister and I are booked on the oasis of the seas in January 2010. we are excited. we wanted a suite like allways but times being the way the are we had to get a central park room. But we plan on having a good time anyway. The only thing i will miss is the private coctail party with the captain.
The wife and I are cruising with my 85 year old dad, her mother of 91 years. her aunt 98 years and her two sisters and husbands and her uncle and aunt. We are 57 and were calling this the turtle cruise. Herding the older folks is like herding turtles. We're thinking about getting wheelchairs because the ship is bigger than the other ships we've cruised on before. We've cruised with this same crew 5 times before. It's always interesting.

My goodness - you will certainly have your hands full there. I agree, I would rent at least a wheel chair or two just to be handy......in case.....
