I will be going on the Explorer of the Seas in January. Really looking forward to it but a little concerned about sailing out of New Jersey during the winter.

This will be her first cruise after coming out of dry dock and I hope the work is not ongoing during the cruise.

Just booked our first RC - Enchantment - last minute for November 5th. Just like Carnival, we start at the bottom and work our way up. I can't wait and I can't wait to get back to Cozumel which we missed on our girls' trip in May because of you-know-what!

Wow-congrats! All we have booked is a little 4 day in December. Of course we did do a 10 day in January. We hope to do a med cruise in 2011. If we do that, that will be our only cruise for 2011, more than likely, as the med cruise will take our whole vacation budget.

I have had my eye on NCL Epic late summer, but my dog just had Surgery- cost $3200 - so maybe a 4-5 day on Carnival or RCCL instead..

Sorry to hear about your dog, I like you would rather have my dog then a cruise. It is so hard when animals are sick.

Just want to say sorry your pooch required surgery. I know many people wouldn't consider paying that amount for surgery but I would do exactly what you did. Hope he/she is doing better.

Yes thanks- he had a TPLO on Tuesday- he tore his cruciate ligament in his leg and demolished the cartilage. The ligament can't be repaired but the joint can be stabilized with instrumentation- so that's what he had done. He is 11 yrs old and has been a good pal to me. If he had been a dog that was happy piddling around in the house and yard I would have considered just treating with pain meds etc ( one of the alternatives) but walks and rides to the park are the highlight of his life so this Surgery will give him the chance to get back to doing that. He has been stressed by being in hospital, he's very anxious and sticking to me like Velcro, but doesn't seem to find it painful. He is confined to the house/leash for 8 weeks so all plans to travel have been shelved.... now looking at late summer/fall instead.

I'm sorry about your pooch, also. But you're still taking a cruise, and that is a good thing

Are you sure about that with the changes to the Mariner's schedule?

OK So I'm not the brightest penny in the pack today. I have the excuse of being sick.

My apologize for not reading the post correctly.

Hi Felix - You must of glanced at my user name and got Mariner.

Now if you hear about Freedom not sailing out of Port Canaveral then you'd really get me worried!

Hope you're feeling better!

A far way off but boooked on the Explorer of the Seas sailing end of June 2011.
With three kids we wanted to make sure we grabbed the best cabins for our family situation.
