FYI the HO-JO in Galveston plans to reopen (all redone after Ike) again next week Dec 1st, on Harborside near cruise terminal reasonalble rates...
they also allow you to park there during the cruise. :o
every where else i looked the rates have started at $249.00 per night!
We're cruising out of Galveston Dec 14-21 on Conquest...

That was the one I wanted to book. But sadly due to airfare and transportion cost my Galveston cruise in 2010 turned into a Mexican Riveria cruise in May 2010. I really need to win the lotto or pillsbury bake off.
My crazysis went on the Fanasty (blogger) cruise with snoozeman and company. She had a great time. There was a couple of things that happened in the dining room that I won't go into here. What happens on a cruise ship stays on a cruise ship. BTW my sis is the crazy and loud one I'm quiet and reserved. You believe me right?

Update on Galv hotels - the Ramada on Seawall is closed for remodelling.
All the Holliday Inns have reopened and are newly remodeled. At least 1 offers free parking.
Gaidos is open and still offters free pkg
High end the Galvez and Freemont are as fabulous as always.
My DD lives on Galv and we are there every few weeks. If you have a particular hotel in mind PM me and I'll check it out next time I'm there and have time to kill before I can pick up my little princess from school.
The island has made huge project in the last 2 months. We sailed out of there last month and the cruise terminal is no different than pre-Ike
