Default Transportation from LAX to Port of L.A. suggestions?

I am cruising on Mariner out of the Port of Los Angeles in february. I am flying in a day early, does anyone have any tips on getting to the port from a hotel near LAX, are their any rental car dropoffs near the port. Any suggestions appreciated.

Usually hotels will have a shuttle that they can take you to the cruise port. Or there is a company that comes by the hotel and you can buy a ride from them to the cruise terminal.

I have never done it in LA becuase I live in San Diego. But I have done it in Miami and this is how it worked at the hotel I stayed at.
Booked Cruises:
Carnival Dream for Thanksgiving
Eastern Caribbean- 11/20/2010

Past Cruises:
Carnival Ecstasy (4 Day Baja Mexico) 2003
Carnival Pride (7 Day Mexican Riviera) 2007
Carnival Spirit (8 Day Exotic Mexican Riviera) 2007
Carnival Freedom (7 Day Western Caribbean) 2008
Carnival Elation (4 Day Baja Mexico) 2009
Carnival Spirit (7 Day Southbound Alaska) 2009

Rental cars - rented at LAX and returned at the port have a drop off fee if not returned to where you rented it. Hotels near LAX not sure they will have free shuttles to the port because of how far it is, there is paid shuttles that run to the port. We stay near the port in San Pedro at the
B--t West--- hotel and they have a free shuttle to the port.

Default Super Shuttle for LAX

Try Super shuttle from the airport. Cost is $16 each way and you can reserve and pay in advance. You have to share the ride but this is usually no problem. Just give yourselves about 20 minutes extra time in case they have to wait for additional passengers.
