cabs do not have a flat rate. I took a cab from Ft. Lauderdale port area to Miami international and it was $90. If you make arrangements with Super Shuttle, its cheaper.

It's a 25 mile trip that can take anywhere from 30 min to an hour depending on the time of day and traffic. There are always cabs available at the port and airport. If you book the shuttle, they arrange the pick up time close to when you arrive.

There are only two of us going. Someone else suggested Go Transport in the FLL airport, they said i should be able to arrange a ride for around $40 +tip for the two of us. I will more than likely call to confirm one of these options just to be sure. Thank you guys for the input!
A one-way car rental that you can drop off at the Port of Miami can be very cheap... And if it's for 2 people, it will more likely be less than what you would pay per person w. a shuttle service. It's worth looking in to. Just make sure that there is a drop-off at the port. I think we used Budget- You could walk to the port or take a $5 cab ride.
I will be trying this company in 2 weeks @ $15.00 pp.between Fll and Miami....honesty, I could not put up with the lines and the paperwork to rent a car for this. I will let you know how it went....www.ridesas.com

I have booked with them as well for our cruise next month. You really can't beat the price.
Lowest I found was a sedan rental, with driver, for around $75(a limo isn't much more). Taxis started around $70. I went with a transfer. There is a shuttle service available called Go! but they limit you to two bags and it is $21/person.
I used Ride SAS in May when I went on my cruise. They are what they advertise, a reliable and cheap transfer from FLL to Miami cruiseport. In fact, as I was getting my luggage, the driver called to inform me he was 5 minutes away. Did use them on the return trip also, waited about 15-20 minutes for dockside pickup. Did wait till the van was full for the drive back to the airport and still arrived there at 10:30 am. $15 p/p is the price, no hidden fees and the vans were late model and clean. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. My brother also used SAS in August and had no problems either.
