Default Cruise Documents

The closer we get to the sailing date the more nervous I become! Now I'm freaking out about our cruise documents. We have not received them. We sail on June 19th, but have to leave home on the 17th to catch plane, etc. Should we have received them by now? I have not been able to contact our agent at Orbitz, but the correspondence with them says we should get them by the 12th. Royal Caribbean website says we should get them 20-50 days before the cruise. Any advice? Thank you!

Call Royal Caribbean directly and see what they say!

Hi Hugh:

Waiting to receive the documents is one of the most enjoyable and frustrating parts of cruising. I have received documents three months to three days before my cruise.

The good news is that as long as you have a confirmed reservation number, the appropriate identity documents and cash or credit card you are good to go.

You can obtain luggage tags from the porters at the port. They will have a passenger manifest, with your cabin number, so just ask them to look it up and put it on your luggage tags. After that just go to check-in and give them your reservation number and documentation and they will check you in.

Also: Go online with Royal Caribbean and print out your pre-cruise information. Take this with you. This should show all the pertinent information, including transfers, that you need.

Take care and I hope you do the doc dance soon,
Mike

I bet you get them any day now....

One time, I got them the day before we had to leave, that was on a Princess cruise.

Thank you!! All the replies put my mind at rest. Then after I stopped worrying so much we received our e-documents, and our travel agent from Orbitz called back! I read the e-documents about 10 times, then started packing. I wonder why Royal Caribbean doesn't put the name of the pier or dock or directions or anythig in the cruise documents. I had to call to get the info. Anyway, I am so excited!!!! 12 more days....

Hughescruise,

We're sailing next Thursday on the Explorer out of Bayonne. Page 13 of my "Adventure Awaits" booklet, subtitled "Your Guest Vacation Documents" has directions to the port (which in our case, we don't need). did you not receive such a booklet? Such has also been the case on our two previous cruises.

Maybe not everyone does receive such a booklet. I don't know. Also accompanying the book were our luggage tags.

Todd

No, we didn't receive any booklets. Only the e-document. Apparently we will be getting our tags at the peir when we check-in. Have fun on your cruise!

HughesCruise - you might dig around online for your tags, or post to the RCCL forum if you haven't already. The luggage tags are on the last page of Carnival eDocs, I'm sure you will be able to find yours..

Have a great cruise.

Default Documents Not Received

Hughes---I just ra across your posting and I know this is late. Did you ever get your documents before sail date? My wife and I have experienced this teh last two cruises, one a 33 day and the other a 38 day cruise. Even when I called HA I still did not receive any documents. We were able to check in at the dock without any incident. Don't know if that is the tend or we were just lucky on our check in. Looks like more and more companies are going the paperless route.Would be interested in knowing how your incident was resolved.

Yes, we recieved e-documents from the travel agent a couple of days after I posted. When we got ready to board all they wanted was our Set Sail Pass anyway....

In my case, I was able to print out my e docs as soon as my final payment went through. I booked through an online travel agent, but was able to go to Carnival's website and print everything out. All I needed was my confirmation number (I'm already a registered user).

My travel agent didn't email me any e docs. I was told that Carnival would email me all the documents, but I was able to get them myself.
