Default FLL/MIA to Acapulco, Mexico

We are thinking of doing a full transit of the Panama Canal embarking Acapulco, Mexico and disembarking at FLL. Does anyone know of direct flights from FLL/MIA, at reasonable -preferably low cost? Our intentions would be to drive to Florida, tour the Keys and Atlantic coast then leave the car at the Port for when we disembark.

I would suspect that you will have to thru a hub like LAx , DFW , Mexico City
or some other one.
Looks like Mexico City will be a for sure.
