Default Range of Spring break

Anybody know the official dates of Spring break? Or does it vary? Im taking a cruise out of Mobile Ala for 5 days starting Apr 19th 2010. Im trying to "avoid" spring break rush of kids. I noticed the week im going the prices are "cheaper" then other weeks as well.

College spring breaks begin in early March, most public schools are late March through Easter. You might see some spring breakers on April 19th, but not many.

It used to be that spring break was always around Easter. Now, that is not PC, so they are all over the place. My 2 nephews in different colleges have spring breaks 3 weeks apart. So, no real way to avoid it.

"Technically", Spring Break can go from mid-Feb. through April. Just like "Hurricane Season" is from June 1 to Nov. 30. Be prepared! However, you should be OK. Easter this year is on April 4 (I think), although our area always has Spring Break the last full week of March, regardless of when Easter is each year. Great time of year to cruise! Enjoy.

We are in Texas and our school aged children are out the week we are cruising (March 14-21). I know that many of the universities are also off that week. I would say to avoid March and April altogether if you want to avoid spring breakers.
