Shopping for international fares usually doesn't change by day of the week.
The day of travel usually change the fare .

I was looking at Airfare to China . One day was twice as much as the day before or the day after.

International I would book no less then 3 mon before departure . If Europe in summer as soon as flights are available.

I'm not sure about the "day" of the week to shop for travel but if you set your travel dates for a Tuesday or Wednesday you will usually find the lowest fare.

Take care,
Mike

Try & avoid travelling on Monday's or Friday's as the airlines expect business travellers to be flying on these days so the offers are harder to find.

Also if you ever book a flight, try & include a weekend day, in the past we have saved hundreds of pounds (Sterling) on Transatlantic flights simply by staying over the Friday night & flying back on the Saturday.

Finally keep an eye open on all the airlines that cover your route to see if any promotions are running. We are just ending a British Airways promo which meant it was cheaper to fly to Europe on a BA flight rather than the budget airlines.

Happy Hunting,

Alan & Katrina
