Houston AP to Galveston

We're cruising in May and Carnival has transfers available from Houston Hobby airport. We're thinking we'll fly in the day before, stay in an airport hotel (with shuttles from the airport and to the airport), then catch the transfer bus on sailing day. Has anyone here done this? Does it make sense

? How did you find out where the Carnival bus was?

I would try a private shuttle instead of the cruise line transfer. You'd save money and have less wait time.
If you do decide to get the cruise line transfers, they will tell you where to meet for pickup.

Hey Fern!
I know there is a private shuttle from Galveston to IAH and I'm pretty sure it goes to Hobby as well. DD lives in Galveston so I'll ask her, since I know she's had friends come in on the shuttle. Possibly you could stay in Galveston and enjoy the island rather than just the airport. Just a thought.

Talked to DD and she said there are several shuttles and they all serve both a/p s. I googled galveston shuttle and came up with several.

When we flew into Houston, we gathered in the airport, and headed on to a waiting bus..The surprise came when we had to go to many other airline terminals to pick up more passengers..My advice would be to take a shuttle service...check out...rideflyreservations.com

Thanks everyone! I'll try your suggestions once we make a decision. We're still trying to decide whether to drive or fly. I'm leaning toward flying, but I think DH wants to drive. The estimated difference in cost is less than $100.00, making the decision harder

One thing that makes a difference to us is that even though the drive to the ship can be exciting, the drive home can be brutal. We are always exhausted and hubby hates that he has to dread the drive back home. Just my experience.

Hi Marty, we could be related

(Sister's, at least!)! That's just one of the reason's I'd rather fly. The drive to Galveston would be okay, but when we get off the ship, having to drive for two days back home-not really fun
