Default What is a Mini-Suite?

Is the difference between a MS and a suite square footage?

You'll have to be a bit more specific in regard to what ship. It varies by ship and by cruise line.

I have always found that a mini-suite is not a suite but rather a larger balcony cabin. There may be a few added amenities but mini-suites do not receive full suite perks.

Let us know what ship you are referring to.

Take care,
Mike

No specific ship in mind - I was asking in general terms. The "mini" part leads one to believe it's just like a suite with sitting area etc... only smaller.

But your answer leads me to another question - what perks are associated with booking a suite? We have booked suites on our next 2 Carnival cruises but our TA only mentioned priority embarkation.

Thanks, Mike!

Kimbopolo, there should be more amenities with a suite booking, but I can't find them on the Carnival website . It looks as if they're redoing the site (AGAIN!) and not everything has been "linked".

I'd wait a few days and check again.

Carnival has the least in regard to "suite" perks. Priority embarkation and debarkation are the only two real benefits. The suites themselves are nice and provide more room, a separate sitting/dressing area and a larger balcony.

Other cruise lines will provide: Concierge lounges, in cabin dining from the main dining room or from specialty restaurants, private disembarkation lounge, daily canapés, butler service, additional cruise credits....etc.

Carnival does fall short but the cabins are nice.

Take care,
Mike

Different cruise lines offer different amenities with their suites and mini-suites.

We've enjoyed suites on Celebrity, HAL and RCCI...our only big disappointment was in Celebrity's Mercury Sky suites..they were just soooooo small! We had Concierge service with afternoon tea and canapes, and they couldn't even get the cart in the door! BUT the service WAS super.
