We are trying to decide on our trip this summer. We have cruised on Carnival twice and Royal Caribbean once. We're not into the whole "FunShip" thing with Carnival, but my kids love the slide and the mini golf. We are thinking of trying a Princess cruise this year. My kids will be 13 and 11. Will there be enough for them to do? How do the kids activities compare?
Carnival Celebration (Key West, Nassau)- June '07-First time cruiser
Rhapsody of the Seas (Alaska) - June '08
Carnival Freedom (Belize, Panama, Costa Rica) - June '09
Carnival Dream (Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya) - June '11
Carnival Freedom (Key West, Grand Cayman, Jamaica) Dec. '12
Carnival Sunshine (Nassau, St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk) - June '14
Carnival Fantasy (Caribbean) - Dec. '14
Carnival Liberty (Alaska) - June '15
I think if you cruise during the summer, there should be plenty of kids their age onboard. Keep in mind, that Princess does limit the number of kids on their sailings, but there should still be enough. Like you said, it will not be the "fun" ship enviornment, but there is still plenty to do and they do have a decent sports deck, pool, etc.
