I was listening to a radio talk show yesterday and somebody suggested that people wear photo ID's with their names on cruise ships so that everyone they encounter know who they are .I thought it was interesting and it remonded me of being at a school reunion .I'm wondering if anyone in the cruise industry ever had this idea ?
Henry, I don't think so... . I don't want "everyone" to know who I am. For several reason's I'm against most kinds of ID. Paranoid? Maybe. Maybe for a reason?
Sorry, it doesn't remind me of a HS reunion at all .

When I joined this site I was trying to determine if I should have a photo of myself in my profile . I found it interesting that while many people do most seem not to .I've never posted on a public board giving one the option of using a photo.
i really don't see the reason or the need for it, maybe if you were part of a large organized group that was on board. If i want someone to know my name i will introduce myself and visa versa
Unless I was part of a group, at a group function, I would have no desire to run around with a "My Name is Mike" name tag. I'm on vacation not at a "Royal Order of Water Buffaloes" convention.
Take care,
Mike (Who cast his vote for Kuki as "Grand Puba". )

I would say that if you are a dyed-in-the-wool socialite/people person, you love the idea. The rest of us would possibly stay home if that became a requirement!
I certainly wouldn't opt to wear a pic ID while cruising. You have your sign and sail card that the crew can see your pic as you board after a port, that is all you need.
If you are with a large group, and have a gathering, may-be then would be necessary??
I think the original suggestion was to make up "business cards" with your photo to exchange with friends you meet - so they can remember you.

My thinking is that if you meet new people and want to communicate with them after the cruise you do so by e-mail or phone .
We met a couple on a vacation in 1994 that we are still in contact with .Even though we last saw them in 1997 we still have a visualization of them and vice versa .
