Default NCL Hawaii Cruise: Balcony v. Oceanview

I am working up my third speculative group on NCL for 2011. It will be a Hawaii cruise. I do not plan to request many inside cabins because I feel most people will prefer at least an oceanview. However, I am not sure whether to request more oceanview staterooms or more balcony staterooms. Recommendations?

Price difference is around $300

Brad
Just my opinion but if they can afford to go to Hawaii they will want the Balcony. Good Luck.

I would consider more balconies as well, especially for this itinerary...

I was leaning that way, and I have specifically chosen a date far enough into the future that I can work out payments with people who need to. I just wasn't sure which way to go. Thank you for your help.

Pride of America is the only NCL ship sailing in the Hawaiian islands. Do you know anything about the Pride of America?

If you've studied Pride of America at all you'll find that it's not the most desirable ship to sail. It just plainly doesn't get great reports and reviews.

To answer your question.... We've done group cruises for CruiseMates since its inception 10 yrs ago. We've always had a good representation of all the basic cabin categories in the groups.

There are people who want to spend the least possible and would want inside cabins, some who compromise for ocean views, those who want balconies, and those who want suites.

Basic rule of thumb I'm told, is that generally the least expensive and the most expensive cabins are what sell first... then the rest gets filled in as it goes.

I really do suggest a CLIA travel agent accreditation course for you. You're trying to enter a career unarmed of the information that you need to do it right.

Paul... I love his enthusiasm. I was just trying to give him some helpful advice. Saw in his signature that his first cruise ever was 6 months ago.

I just want him to get some real training, and develop his knowledge, so he becomes one of the "great" agents we always talk about, instead of someone just trying to sell cruises.

Like I said before, I am pursuing training. I chose the Pride of America largely because of timing and price though. The area I live in there are not many who will spend for a high end cruise, and many are land locked vacationers so I am trying to get them converted by offering several promotions for next year. This year I do hope to add two more cruises to my travel history and am certainly pursuing all of the training I can get my hands on. I also plan to go to TrainingFest later this year and count that towards my MCC(I am enrolled in ACC right now but no harm in completing as many requirements as I can simultaneously).
