San Diego to Hawaii on Celebrity Century

Considering 15 day RT from San Diego to Hawaii on Celebrity Century in Oct. 2011.

Does anyone know if this ship has modern stabilizers, as it was initially built in 1995 and refurbished in 2006? We are concerned about potentially rough seas on an older ship.

Also, any ideas on sharing a Royal Suite with sofa bed versus two separate veranda cabins would be appreciated. Cost is not the concern. Prefer a better bathroom and quiet sleeping (snoring husband).:(

Thank you!

Yes, the ship has stabilizers. All modern cruise ships (built since the 1970s) have them.

You should be made aware that the ship has potential pod problems which could affect the speed of the ship. This is usually not a problem, but when relying on engines to cross large expanses of water if you do have a pod problem it could affect your itinerary a great deal.

On the other hand, the new "Solsticized" enhancements to the ship make it more attractive than its sister ships, with a new Martini bar, a creperie, a new wine bar, an Espresso and gelato bar and finally a new Italian restaurant called Tuscan Grill.
