Since I'm not a big drinker, I still like the option to purchase when I want it, rather than have it included...Some of the major cruiseline used to have a package you could purchase for the week with so many drinks included...
I think Carnival does if you have a group of a certain size and everyone in the group signs up for it. Of course, I might have Carnival confused with another mainstream cruiseline.
I know one large group (100+) on our last Carnival cruise had the option between a drink package and a discounted rate.

But when you start to look at spending an extra $75/day per person you start to wonder if it is worth it.
$75 per day woould be a bargain for me. If you think a bottle of wine with dinner along with port, bloody mary's or banana daquiri during the day, at least four scotches between before dinner and after dinner, and add in a number of diet cokes; $75 would be a bargain. Azamara has a drink package but Oceania does not (last I heard); that is why I am exploring Azamara as an alternative cruise line.

Celebrity offers different drink packages. I don't know how the prices vary per cruise but for our upcoming cruse the "Classic" package is $44/pp/pd and the "Premium" package is $54/pp/pd. Notice that both packages have limits. There are separate wine packages too.
"Classic"
Upgrade your cruise experience and pay one price to enjoy all of the benefits of our Classic Non-Alcoholic package as well as all Beers up to $5 per serving and spirits, cocktails and wines by the glass up to $8 per serving.
"Premium"
For the ultimate in value and convenience, our premium package provides all the benefits of our Premium Non-Alcoholic Package. In addition, you can enjoy our entire selection of Beers as well as Spirits, Cocktails and Wines by the Glass up to $12 per serving.

So the magic word there is "used to". Why is it past tense, in other words, why did they do away with them? Let me guess, revenue??
