I am one of those cruisers who will wait out the inaugural season on a new ship, and read the reviews from CruiseMates, then make my decision as to if i want to sail

Yes, I agree. I always pass on the first on 1st few months. Also avoid 1st weeks after retrofit or even assigned a new home port.

Just look at the IPhone 4. I bet people wished they had waited on that item. Same goes with cruise ships, new model cars, and the list goes on.
