Parking & Pier in New Orleans

We're cruising on the Triumph next month- need info on the Pier & Parking in N.O. Any tips?
We live in North Mississippi - so we plan to drive down the day of the cruise- we don't need a hotel for the night before.
We really hope this goes well because we are considering cruising with NCL out of New Orleans in December.

They have a parking garage at the pier. In march of 2010 it was 14 dollars a day. You pay when you enter. They do take credit cards. Pre Katrina you could park at a parking garage about 3 blocks away for 7 dollars a day and they would shuttle you to the ship,but I don't think It survived the hurricane.
