My favorites on a cruise are lamb shank for dinner and creme broule for dessert. I also love escargot for apetizer.

I usually have a full breakfast with eggs and bacon or an omelet.

On my last cruise ( Oasis OTS ), they had an area set aside for diamond members to have beakfast and the food and service were great.

I am getting hungry thinking about the food on the ships.

Manuel, I think I may try escargot. The thought of it though, makes me cringe, but, I maybe I should have put that on "my next crusie" thread

Are they chewy, slimy? What's the texture? Does the sauce help it go down?

Like Manuel, I also love the lamb shanks. Just about any lamb dish is on my to try list.

For breakfast it's usually something like eggs Benedict or a ham, cheese, mushroom omelet.

Lunch is what ever we feel like. Anything from steak in the dining room to a burger by the pool.

Dinner is the big meal and I make the most of it. I do like creme brulee but I also love chilled soups and I have a thing for cheese.

Take care,
Mike (who thinks he'll stop for breakfast on the way to the lake)

oh come on lets get adventurous here when it comes to food! lol, thats one of the great things about cruising, trying new and maybe "exotic" foods. Breakfast is usually the buffet or room service-we will eat out on the balcony, lunch again is grab and go at the buffet, but dinner AHHH, thats the time to have fun with food. I love to try the chilled soups as an appetizer, have had delicious grouper, i usually will try the chef's special of the evening, and on Princess the dessert souffles are to die for

Was it here or another site that did a poll type thread about l'escargot? you either love 'em or would never try them except under extreme duress (ME, sound YUK!) BUT I will eat most seafood & there really isn't any difference, I can see why someone wouldn't want to try snails but shrimp & things are a delight, some just say YUK! to them too.
Breakfast usually the full English for a day or two then I settle down to a freshly made omelette...BUT Celebrity Scrambled eggs are just perfect so a dilemma there, odd I know but I also like toast with jam & some nice cheese after, decent coffee if possible (we live in hope).
Lunch-whatever, usually ''something healthy'' unless ashore.
Dinner is an occasion not just a meal so things vary from MDR to Speciality, best ever was "Ocean Liners'' on Connie...the menu with matched wines, close 2nd to be honest was either Arcadian Rhodes (P&O Arcadia) or Tuscan Grill on Eclipse. I love curry but also want to be served, so hopefully our next cruise on P&O Azura will tick that box as they have a good Indian place.

I learned to make Creme Brulee a few years ago. You wouldn't believe how easy it is.

They are not slimy at all. The texture is similar to that of fried clams.

When I was a kid we had a lot them in our gardens and I never ate one, but I decided to try them on our first cruise.
On our last cruise (on the Oasis), the waitress started to bring me two portions afer I told her how much I loved them.

I also had some on our last trip to Paris, but I liked the way they prepared them on the ships better.

Manuel, when I was a kid, on a hot humid Sepetember morning, the first day of school, my best friend and I were outside in her backyard.

Her Father, had just removed some flag stones, and boy we had snails, slugs, I don't remember exactly..we poured salt on them, how we knew to do this, I have no recollection, and we watched them melt. Sooo every time I hear escargot, my mind goes back to when I was about 10/11, and I freeze! I know people adore them, but, we shall see
