Default How much would it take in price difference to get you to try a luxury cruise?

For many folks, like me, Luxury cruising is only a dream that is just too far out of reach financially. If I could wave my magic wand and magically reduce the price of a luxury cruise, what would the maximum cost be over what you would normally pay for a cruise be?

Example
Eastern Caribbean cruise with stops in St. Thomas, St. Martin, St. Barts and Grand Turk.
on Carnival this cruise would normally cost around $900pp for a balcony cabin. How much more would you be willing to spend to make that same trip on Seaborn or Regent or SilverSea?

a. 300.00
b. 500.00
c. 1000.00
d. More then 1000.00
e. less then 300.00

Don't know... but your example shows the difference between US & UK prices, can't get much of a cruise from here under 1,000, & 7 night cruises don't go anywhere special.

I have a western caribbean cruise upcoming on Regent Seven Seas Mariner. All suites, all balcony, all tips included, all shore excursions included, premium alcohol beverages included. No charges for restaurants. Free air is included but I chose the $400 credit as I will drive to FLL. After getting $700 SBC for the two of us, TA discount, and past passenger discount, we are paying a little over $2000 per person.

This is the cheapest cruise of the season; you can usually find a few a year that are really a great deal.

If you are used to getting a balcony or suite on premium line, I really recommend checking out the luxury lines for good deals.

Wow, that's an awesome price to have all of that included. Are there a lot of choices for shore excursions?

The maximum I would pay would be somewhere around $300/pp/pd. That is taking into consideration that all tips and gratuities are included.

Take care,
Mike

Here is a link to regent site with excursions:

Luxury Cruise Vacations from Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Some excursions do cost more; however, even our parasailing excursion is free.

I found a great article on FOX Business that presents the case for luxury cruising better than I ever could:

FOXBusiness.com - Comparing Luxury and Mainstream Cruises

I guess it really depends on how much you usually spend on your sail and sign card. If you spend 500 for your wife and 500 for you then a $1000.00 more isnt out of the question but if you don't spend much money on a cruise it would be excessive.
