Default Missed your Cruise Ship- How did you get back

How I got back to the Ship after I missed it
One of the folks over in the UK posed this topic,
Have you ever been late...

and we had interesting feedback on what people have seen happen as to cruisers missing the ship.

Another person though expressd the question as to what actually happens when you do not have your passport, credit card, minimal clothes and on a deserted port.
So, is their anybody out their who has actually had this experience of missing the ship and can help us understand how you were able to get back to the ship
and your encounters with officials.

Thank you /Rob

ps: I thought I posted this earlier today but could not find it under my profile.

Should be interesting to hear these stories, something I hope never happens to me, OY.

My sister missed her cruise ship while in the Caribbean.
She was out shopping and wound up having to pay for a hotel for two nights, food and a flight to the next port to re-join her cruise. It cost her and her friend over $1,000.

BTW, always pay attention to the time given for all passengers to be onboard and not the departure time for the ship. I have seen some ships leave before the scheduled departure time because of tides and weather conditions.

Also, make sure you check to see if you are on ship time, or real time.
