It never dawned on me to maybe fly in to Miami airport instead of Ft Lauderdale. Has anyone done this? Iím thinking MIA would have a better selection as far as flight times go and may be cheaper. What do you think?

I am not a fan of Miami aiport..preferring Lauderdale ..In November for the 1st time in Miami, I needed to take the tram to get to my gate.
Fares change all the time amd they often make no sense....From Boston recently, Orlando was cheaper than Miami..so you gotta keopp checking Fll and Miami to win this pricing contest...
Flying into the city you are crusiing from is, of course always better, but I precruise in Lauderdale, and sometimes sail from Miaimi as I did last year..the shuttle form Fll. to the port of Miami is $15.00 pp

I have flown to both airports. Usually it was always cheaper to fly into FLL instead of Miami. Southwest, Spirit, & Jet Blue fly into FLL and are cheaper. However, it will probably depend on where you are flying in from.
When I fly in and from Chicago O'hare, its always been cheaper to fly into Miami...Its been years since I've landing in Ft. Lauderdale and will be later this year for our Allure cruise. I still feel the cost difference makes up for less hassle if I have to get to Miami from Ft. Lauderdale or the opposite...It does pay to keep checking, and daily, the fares change very quickly.
