You are lucky to have visited so many places in this area, as you mentioned. I can bet many, might postpone their trips to this part of the world, at least till things calm down...Those adventuresome travelers, will love it.

Parrot Pop and I have NEVER been phased by soldiers with machine guns at the ports in South America where many cruisers refuse to get off the ship.. My philosophy is that they are there to protect me.. I'm thrilled I got to Egypt in October but right now and I am serious I would not want to be on a cruise ship going to Alexandria and I think the cruise lines who are still thinking this should think twice.. There is much too much turmoil with pirates and uprisings.. Yes, these countries depend on tourism but the quality of THEIR lives is more important to them. Morocco sadly has just had a few incidents too.
