This upcoming Cruise will be my first Cruise ever with my wife, i'm so excited and worried at the same time, i'm gonna depart from Los Angeles to Mexico on the 7-DAY Carnival Splendor, but i have so many questions in my head and i need help =)
1-I have American Express, Costco, AAA, I'm a University student and i'm a California Resident, wht's the best deal i can get i mean i bigger discount i can get on my booking ?
2-Should i Cruise in April 2011, May 2011, June 2011 or July 2011 ?
3-Should i book Balcony [Included in price], Aft-View Extended Balcony, or Premium Balcony ? "my wife has a very light Motion sickness"
4-more or less you recommend Forward, Midship or Aft of the ship, considering "Night Noise, View, Ocean Breeze and Neighbors Cigarettes ash"
5-What Deck considered to be the best maybe this will answer Question 3 & 4 "Upper Deck 6, Empress Deck 7, Verandah Deck 8, Lido Deck 9, or Panorama Deck P"
Your best bet, is to contact a cruise travel agent and find out what date has the lesser price and fit that into your schedule. Mid ship cabins are better if you are prone to sea sickness, but the ships of today have very little swaying. Is there a certain ship you are looking at?
One thing...you may get more reads/responses if this is also in the Carnival section of CM.
We sailed Splendor last September. We had an aft extended balcony on deck 8. Once you have a balcony/extended, you may never get a OV or Inside. You can find pics of balconies or we can post pics of balcony and neighbor wraparound balcony, too.
Regarding location. Midship is best for one with mostion sickness. We don't have a problem with it so the aft does not bother us.
You have what we find nice the noise of the wake from the props to sleep to. There is the problem of noise from the Lido above with moving chairs.
As far as location. If you look at the deck plans https://www.goccl.com/irman/bookccl/...shipboard.HTML you can see what location would work for you as far as distance to Lido, dining room, laundry, showroom, stairs & elevators etc. You can do alot of walking on the ship.
If you want to avoid kids, you may want to look at school holiday schedules vs sailing dates.

Reason: fix link
If your wife has motion sickness the mid part of the ship would be better for that, but aft is really a great place to be. If you are aft it does not really matter which deck you are on, you'll be handy to the elevators/stairs that go to the adult only area and back of buffet on lido.
