cruise line credit cards

I'm not sure where I should be asking this so I posted here. I was thinking about getting a cruise line CC to get some points with. My question is are they worth it. Which is best I have looked at a couple. The cruise lines I am interested in are Royal Caribbean, ncl and carnival. Does anyone have an opinion.

When I got my RCL card, I got 10,000 points after one charge. That's equal to $100 OBC. Unless you get extra points, than they are not worth the effort. There are many cards that give rebates of 1%, same as ship cards, but also give higher % on other types of purchases (gas, grocery, hardware, etc). An example is the Costco Amex card; 1% plus 2% for travel, 3% restaurants & gas. Book a cruise & airfare totaling $5000 and you have $100 to spend on board.

I have a RCCL card and have taken 2 free cruises so far. If that is your only credit card and you use it often the points add up rapidly. It takes 125,000 points for a free caribbean cruise for 7 days for two. The points are doubled when use them on cruise related expenses. We are going on the Allure in May for free except for port charges of $250.00 or so.
