Any tip for airfare to San Juan??
So I've booked the Victory on Sept 4th leaving from San Juan on a Southern Caribbean itinery. I anticipated a higher than normal airfare but am looking forward to so many new ports of call. Do any of you have any tips for reduced airfare. We're currently looking at about $1,075 after taxes for two people round trip. I can get it a bit cheaper ($980) but we don't like the flight times.

Thanks in advance.

I would just keep checking and find the ones that you can live with, then book it. You will see they change almost hourly. I just booked 2 round trips to Ft. Lauderdale for 962, for a cruise in Oct....I know the air fare to SJU is high, but the cruise is so worth it.

Believe it or not 1,075 for two is pretty good for SJU - now if it is 1,075/pp keep looking. But with oil so high don't be too surprised.

I have to agree, if that is for 2 people round trip and times that you like, that is really a super price...Sometimes the closer you get, the price goes up...

I could do a quick run of the fares but don't know where you are flying out of.

Are you using the big sites?

Try these..... the first one you can sign up for emails or tweets when the fare is offered better.

Ok I checked the one site listed and its about the same. I've also checked Orbitz, Travelocity and Priceline. I guess there's no great deals on airfare. I found a couple of old posts on this site from about 2005-2006 where someone got tickets to SJU for under $300 PP. I guess the oil prices have shot that all to hell lol.

I guess I'll book it in a couple days when I get time.

Thanks for the input. We're hoping this cruise will be great. It will be our first cruise since our honeymoon, and will be right after our 5th anniversary. I guess $1,000 in airfare isn't such a bad deal considering we will get to see 5 new places instead of the same old W. Caribbean spots we've seen a couple times before.
