Default "Best" location for deck chairs

The complain of chair hogs seems to arise often on Cruise Mates.

So, where are the "best" deck chairs located on the ship?

Probably the ones on the cabin's balcony. No competition for them there. Tough to work on the tan if the sun's in the wrong place though.

As they say in real estate,it's always, location, location, location, but, as you can see by the poll, its all subjective. Someone wants to bake, and, another needs to read in the shade.

Usually, by the main pool, where the action is, is where we plunk down. We have discovered the aft pools on some ship, and that is also a great place to veg, in a more quiet atmosphere.

I think for us it depends if we are part of a CM group cruise, or, if it's just us.

i agree with Trip on this one, depends upon our mood, and what we want to do, if we want to be where the action is, that would be by the main pool,if we want something quieter to just relax and veg then that would be an aft or adults only pool area

my cabins balcony is the best.....no screaming kids running around, restroom close by, can sun bath naked if I like, usually quiet and the last but not least, I don't lose my seat if I get up to do something

Default Voted Aft pool/adult area.

For me near a pool is nice so I can cool off....in theory...but in practice we have NEVER got near a pool much less actually got into one, too crowded, beds too close, too loud music. On P&O's Azura (a Grand class ship) the aft pool looked just the job, but people we reserving beds there at first light...or earlier, we didn't bother. OK we did not make it a mission, but we were on the ship for a month & on the sea days there was NO CHANCE of a bed anywhere in a good location. The private area (pay)was fully booked for all sea days by the time we boarded, despite ''not being able to pre-book''....Hmmm...

johnthed0g, we have seen some good movies and concerts. in the morning they usually have news until 9 or 10, and in the afternoons there may be some kind of sport game to watch.

It seems the majority want that chair right by the pool, which is fine. There are other options, I like going just one deck up fairly close to the stairs, so when I want to take a dip, its just a matter of going down one flight of stairs. It is nice up there, more of a breeze and plenty of sun and or shade.

Yes, it has always bothered me that people "reserve" their space first thing in the morning and don't use the chairs for hours later, while others that would use them find them taken?? It is just not right, either wait until you want to use them, find a spot and enjoy for a few hours.

I have never really seen the problem with people getting up & being first in line,....as long as they USE the chairs!

what I found on the Victory where the topless deck used to be. There are chairs up there that is in a quiet area. And there "was" not sure if its still there or not, there was a "cool off" station or a shower to get cooled off up on that deck as well, so you didnt have to go to pool to get wet even though it was several decks lower. I sat up there on my last trip on Victory as to not offend anybody of my choice of swimwear... Speedo, not a thong.
