Default I want to go back to ______!

Quite a few of our Cruisemates have, a very long cruise list under their belts, I do think Ray is our winner!

How many of you have cruised to a port, loved it so much, you decided you wanted more time than a cruise could allow, and, decided to do a land trip, to see and do it all.

What port stole your heart, and, was it all you thought it would be?

For us it was Honolulu, and we went back five years later and we have plans to go again.

Did that once to Grand Cayman. We had actually missed that port and it was the one port I wanted to visit. Had a nice few days there, except for a lot of rain.

Well, we did go back to Florence this year to spend more time because 5 hours just wasn't enough. I still haven't gotten my fill of Rome yet, but assume that eventually, with more med cruises, I will.

Grand Cayman and Aruba. Went to Aruba for 13 days...loved every minute of it. Haven't made our way back to Cayman on land yet though. Cruising is like visiting a buffet -- sample many areas of the world to decide where you really want to spend your time (when not on a ship of course!).

Isn't it odd when you see somewhere you didn't think much of as somebody else's ''must do''. After a trip to Jamaica (Ochos rios) some years back Jamaica was the last place we wanted to go back to, BUT on our last cruise we visited Negril & thought ''what a lovely place''

Paul, I was lucky enough to live in Jerusalem for a couple of months in 1980. I went back for a week in 2009 and was greatly surprised how much it had changed. It is a fantastic city and Israel is a wonderful country to tour. In 2009 we were also able to spend four days in Jordan which was fascinating.

After our first Med. Cruise we went back a year later and did a land trip. 3 Nights Paris, 3 Nights St. Paul de Vence (where my heart is) 7 nights Provence, a night on the Italian Riviera enroute to 7 nights in Tuscany and then 3 in Rome.

We've now been back to the French Riviera 5 times and number 6 is on the horizon for next year.

Santorini is on my list of places to go back to for a land trip as is the Amalfi Coast which we're also doing next year for 5 or 6 nights.

In July 2010 we booked a land vacation in Washington for May 2011. In Sept 2010 I realized how close we'd be to Seattle and a cruise to Alaska. Thinking it would be a long time, if ever, until we got to that part of the country it wasn't a hard sell to hubby. We fell in love! Mountains on the east coast just don't compare to the ones in Alaska - we didn't get that far north into Alaska. I've already talked hubby into a cruise and pre-cruise tour to Alaska in Sept 2012.
