For me, hands down, Trunk Bay...Basically because it is so beautiful, great beach, and snorkeling. It is in the middle of a natural preserve and it shows....There are still many beautiful beaches all over the caribbean, but so far this one is my fav.

Yes, the beaches in St Maarten are amazing. We enjoy the one by the airport.

We've been to St. Maarten at least 9 times-it's one of our favourite places-but not familiar with Ormond Beach. Where abouts is it Henry? Dutch side or French? We'll be there again in Feb. and I'd love to check it out.

We've yet to find anything that can beat the beaches on Antigua. Crystal clear water (you can be neck deep in the water and still see your toes), soft white sand, and overall, a beautiful island. We've talked about doing an all-inclusive vacation there. Definitely one of our all-time favorite places.

Default Good question...

People like different things, I loathe busy commercial beaches, if we go on a land holiday we look for a hotel on a quiet natural beach bordered by palm trees /vegetation where we can walk along thinking we are on a desert island. For anyone who knows the island Barbados is a good example of this, you can be crammed onto one of the popular South Coast beaches with hundreds of ''those awful cruise people'', plagued by vendors, jet-ski men etc. Bordered by concrete & a busy road. Or you can look elsewhere & find beautiful secluded stretches of beach where you can revel in nature...OK you won't find music & a handy Pina Colada but so what? I can never understand what people see in travelling to a beautiful island & just frequenting somewhere like Ft. Lauderdale/Miami or for Brits Spain...why bother?

Antigua HAS got lovely beaches, good job too not much else after Nelsons Dockyard & Shirley heights.
We love it because you can relax on the beach without missing anything!

Varied selections to be sure.I am not much a beacher, but Half Moon Cay stole my heart. Plucked from a postcard, for cruisers enjoyment, a slice of gorgeous.

Orient Beach to me, was so not a pretty beach..we didn't swim there, and, the water might be great, but for me, I want pretty, and great water/sand etc, when I do indulge.

That's why Heinz makes 57..choices for everyone!

Donna, I agree with you 100%. We loved that beach.

Never made Trunk Bay, pouring with rain & was quite cold, we arrived by ferry to be told that the beach was "closed"....so we thought.. do we stay here in the rain or head back to St Thomas? we decided to head back so never made it!!

Because the cruise leaves from Cape Liberty, I'm sure there will be a lot of passengers from the northeast-including quite a few Canucks.

In terms of "beauty" I would have to rate Trunk Bay as the most beautiful. It is like something from a post card.

The only negative was that before the first time I went I was excited about what people had said about the fantastic snorkeling. We went into the water but the snorkeling was underwhelming. There is a underwater "snorkel trail" with signs that direct you to different types of coral and other things. While interesting there wasn't really that much to see, compared to other parts of the Caribbean.

Trunk Bay

Take care,
Mike

AGree, the snorkeling trail is no big deal, you had to snorkel around the other side, totally different and lots to see... We snokeled around the whole little island.

yep Trunk Bay is gorgeous, unfortunately it is turning into a cruise ship excursion mecca, too crowed for us, we prefer going to some of the other gorgeous beaches on St. John
