Default Get Covered!

With a recent post about a sudden death, and being in the thick of hurricane season, it's so imperative to have the right travel insurance coverage for piece of mind. Faithul Cruisemate readers, know we stress the importance having this inexpensive policy

Side by side comparisons of pricing with your pertinent information, including pre existing conditions can easily be seen, with many 3rd party insurers, online. but as you make sure you understand what you are getting covered, also, make sure what it excludes.

In this hurricane season with mores storms undoubtably in the forcast, note that your insurance must be in place, before a storm is named.

So many health, weather, and other related travel situations, can come up, that, not having the right coverage, could impact you for years.

As we've all noticed in our boards almost weekly, there is some instance where if the cruiser had insurance, their unforseen expences would of been covered. Just last week because of Irene, many were stranded in San Juan, you would normally never expect your ship to leave without you, but it does happen....Yep, get the insurance.

In the UK we either have to take the cruiselines insurance or show proof we have our own or we don't get on the ship.I don't know if they check or if people lie.

I fly/cruise - but no-one has ever asked me for evidence that I have travel insurance.

It has to be said that I have never cruised on a UK line.

I do know that for land vacations operated by UK companies - I am asked for policy no etc.

At the end of the day people who do not buy travel insurance are rolling the dice; the difference is instead of possibly winning tens of thousands of dollars they stand to lose thousands of dollars.

Annie

PS I just get miffed reading numerous posts moaning about their losses because they decided not to insure - maybe we should move all these posts to one forum so everyone can see how often this happens.

Hey Annie,
I think you may be on to something, good idea to have a forum, just for issues that arrise while cruising, when you had no insurance....

I never travel without insurance either. We have had two situations where insurance was needed. In both cases the insurance really paid off for us.
