Panama Canal Christmas Holiday Cruise

Does anyone have suggestions to fully enjoy a 28 nights-cruise aboard the luxurious MS Statendam ? This is a very special time of year to be celebrating Christmas and New Years at sea along with several outstanding Ports-of-Call : Costa Rica ( Puerto Caldera , Puntarenas , Golfo Dulce ) ; Mexico ( Huatulco , Cabo San Lucas , Puerto Vallarta ) ; Bahia Magdalena ; Guatemala ( Puerto Quetzal ) ; Nicaragua ( Corinto ) ; Columbia ( Cartagena ) ; CA ( San Diego ) and Full Transit of the Panama Canal ( twice ) . This is a round-trip cruise from Ft. Lauderdale , departing on Dec. 9th , Port Everglades . Has anyone seen the $2 million worth of art & rare artifacts on board the ship ? Is the Van Gogh Theatre at Sea richly decorated with Van Gogh's " The Starry Night " & " Irises " ? Do you feel that there is a sophisticated ambiance throughout the ship ? What was your reaction to the three-story sculpture " Fountain of the Siren " ( 26 feet ) in the atrium ? Will the ship be decorated on all decks for a truly festive holiday season ? What has been your experience with cruising on any of the Hal ships at Christmas time ? Please let me know what you think about HOLIDAY cruising , see you on board ! Joel :-D

We did a Panama Canal cruise during Xmas 2009 .
We decided never to do a Xmas/New Year's cruise again.

Hi Doopy , What are the reasons why you would not take such a cruise again ? You did not give any valid reasons . Also , which cruiseline / ship were you on ? Take care , Joel

We went on the Coral Princes thru the Panama.
Reason's we would probably not go again

1 - Xmas was very overdone in terms of decorations , music etc

2 - People tended to neglect there kids.

3 - many kids seemed to be at lose ends and would sit around
the stairs and run down the corridor's shouting.
